Mother and daughter die in separate car accidents on the same day

A mother and her little girl are dead following two car accidents on a recent Tuesday afternoon. The 39-year-old mother died at around 3 p.m. after being involved in a two-car crash. On the same highway — Alabama 117 — her 8-year-old daughter died in an unrelated car crash about 30 minutes later.

The mother died in a car crash involving her Ford Explorer and a Dodge Ram. The Ram driver and another passenger in that vehicle survived the head-on collision with the mother’s Explorer. They were rushed to a local hospital to receive medical treatment.

The 8-year-old girl was trying to cross the street on foot when she was struck by a Ford Focus. The driver didn’t get hurt in the collision.

The strange series of events has left the community, family and friends who knew the girl and her mother in a state of shock and disbelief. The principal of the young girl’s school has scheduled a balloon release in honor of her life. Meanwhile, people who knew the mother said that she was a beacon of hope and light for those suffering from addiction and other problems. As the community continues to reel in disbelief, donations are being made to help the family of the mother and daughter.

Whenever a family loses a loved one in a fatal Alabama car accident, close relatives may want to look into the possibility of pursuing a wrongful death claim in civil court. If successfully navigated, such a legal action could bring financial restitution at a time when family members need it most.
