Deven Hargrove

Legal Assistant

Deven joined our team at Johnston Moore & Weston as a receptionist in May 2025. She recently graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology, and has always had a strong desire to work in the legal field. She hopes to use her position at Johnston Moore & Weston to gain experience in the legal field, as she plans to further her education by attending law school in the future. Her main interest is in civil law, with a specific passion for family law.

During her free time, Deven enjoys being outside. Whether she’s reading a book by the pool, hiking with her friends, or exploring the nature around Huntsville, Deven loves to be in the sun. She has a pet cat named Noodle and three pet goldfish that she likes to spend time with when at home.

Kandy Huelsman

Senior Paralegal

Kandy has been a valued member of Johnston Moore & Weston since 1999, beginning her career with the firm as a real estate closer and legal assistant. It wasn’t long before she became the dedicated legal assistant, and now Senior Paralegal to founding partner William Johnston, Jr—a role she’s held with loyalty and excellence ever since.

With a solid background in real estate closings, paralegal work, and bookkeeping, Kandy plays a crucial role in keeping Mr. Johnston and his family’s various business ventures running smoothly and efficiently. Her attention to detail, deep institutional knowledge, and unwavering dedication make her an indispensable part of the team.

Outside the office, Kandy enjoys spending quality time with her longtime husband, Kurt. She loves traveling, golfing, boating, and starting her days with a workout and breakfast among friends. A sun-lover at heart, she’s happiest in warm weather—and never misses a chance to spoil the Johnston family children as if they were her own.

Kandy is deeply loved by her colleagues and respected throughout the community for her warmth, professionalism, and years of service.

Sherika Norwood

Junior Paralegal

Sherika is a dedicated paralegal at Johnston, Moore and Weston. Sherika earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Alabama A&M University in 2010. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned a Masters in Public Health Degree from Walden University in 2014. Sherika has experience in the mental health field, where she advocates for individuals who suffer from mental illness, making her a compassionate representation to our firm.

Outside of her professional role, Sherika is a devoted and loving mother to her daughter Mikayla. Her daughter inspires her dedication to her work. Sherika is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, incorporated, where she commits to various community service projects.

Katie Levy

Senior Paralegal

Katie serves as the Senior Paralegal at the firm and has been a valued member of the team since 2021. She attended Auburn University, where she studied Elementary Education, but quickly discovered her passion in the legal field. In her role, Katie oversees the firm's civil litigation practice, assisting with case management from inception through resolution and helping ensure that clients receive responsive, high-quality support throughout the legal process. She is passionate about mentoring team members, training new staff, and fostering a positive work environment. Katie works closely with attorneys, clients, and colleagues to keep cases moving efficiently and support the firm's continued growth and success. Her attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to client service make her an integral part of the firm's daily operations.

Outside of work, Katie is engaged to her fiancé, Tanner, and is a proud dog mom. She enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, and making the most of her weekends with the people she cares about most.

Samantha Marks

Senior Paralegal

Samantha Marks serves as a Senior Paralegal at Johnston, Weston & Moore. She brings more than four years of legal experience to the firm, having begun her career as a legal assistant before becoming a paralegal. Her experience spans a variety of practice areas, including bankruptcy, civil litigation, personal injury, business litigation, and other complex civil matters. Samantha is dedicated to supporting the firm’s attorneys and providing clients with responsive, detail-oriented service throughout every stage of their legal matter.

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys spending time with family and friends, caring for her cat Donatella, and exploring the outdoors through hiking and other outdoor activitie

Delaney Ciccolella

Legal Assistant

Delaney is a legal assistant at our law firm with a passion for the intersection of law and human behavior. Holding dual Bachelor Degrees of Art in Law/Justice and Psychology from Auburn University, Delaney is committed to expanding her knowledge and pursuing a future in law. With a keen interest in both legal principles and psychological insight, she plans to attend law school in the future to further her expertise and career.

Outside of her professional role, Delaney enjoys hiking with the beautiful nature scenery that Huntsville has to offer as well as doing arts and crafts in her free time.

Shauna Hill

Director of Operations

Shauna Hill joined Johnston, Moore & Weston in 2023, bringing more than 20 years of experience in business operations, firm management, accounting, investing, and title abstract work. As Director of Operations, she oversees all operational and administrative functions, including human resources, financial oversight, budgeting, firm training, workflow development, and strategic planning. Her leadership is instrumental in driving organizational efficiency, optimizing profitability, and supporting the firm’s long-term growth.

With a proven background in restructuring and improving business performance, Shauna blends strong analytical insight with practical, results-driven strategy. She is known for her ability to streamline processes, build high-performing teams, and develop operational frameworks that support both client service and internal excellence.

A native of Toney, Alabama, Shauna holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix (2011). She also serves as an Ambassador for the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, actively strengthening connections within the regional business community.

Outside of work, Shauna is a devoted wife and mother of three. She enjoys traveling, exploring history and culture, supporting her children’s athletics, and creating meaningful experiences with her family. She is also an active real estate investor with a passion for helping businesses and individuals grow, adapt, and succeed.
